Writing a Blog is Hard!

I didn't realize so much time had gone by since my last post. I was planning on having something daily; then weekly. All of a sudden, close to six months had passed and I didn't have anything new. Okay... here's something.

Since before I went to Texas (for my sister's funeral), I started working with a couple of friends on a comic book company. I know, right, a company?

I still feel the idea of starting a comic book company is a bit behind the times seeing that most people have the tools to publish their own content, whether it is on the web or on paper (paper is still my outlet of choice) but these guys are really good people and being a part of something with them is a great honor.

Anyhoo, The above is an illustration of the company's logo (I hope, still haven't had approval) and it kinda signals a return to form for myself in overly rendered pen and ink drawings... ha ha ha. I like that style and it's one of the only types of drawings that leaves me even partially satisfied with the results.

Okay, so when are you going to start seeing content from this comic book company? Very soon. We plan to debut at Mega Con in Orlando... CRAP! Mega Con is soon. I gotta get things made!

Well, good to see y'all again. I have work to do...

later.

Shameless plug #1

I know we've just met, but check out my podcast with some good guys from all around the country. The website is DCUO-Unlimited and it's mostly about an upcoming massively multiplayer online game that's coming out in November based on the characters of DC Comics (I drew last post's Capt. Marvel for my friend on the site) but we also go into pop culture stuff and also, most definitely comics. Next podcast will have a drawing of Wonder Woman on the cover by friend and fellow podcaster Humphrey Ching and the one following might have a cover illustration by the host of DCUO-Unlimited, Alfredo "Apple" De La Fuente, so that is definitely something to see. In the future, I have plans of posting more DCU characters like Etrigan, Darkseid and even S.T.R.I.P.E. (a big robot suit guy based on Stripesy from the older DC Comics).

That's it for now...

I'll seeya soon..

The Grass is Always Greener...

This is my "first" blog with Blogger. I chose this design because I liked the scrollable (is that a word?) picture behind the words which I can change at any time.

(Note: As I'm writing this, the picture behind the blog is a graphic depiction of grass with some dandelions and sky... I definitely have to change it!!!)

So, why'm I making a blog? That's a good question...

The Answers:

A.) Being a "wanna-be" professional artist made me want to set-up a constantly updating archive of works I have created on an almost daily basis.

B.) I really do have the kind of ego that would allow me to believe that people want to know what I think.

C.) I like to find new ways to shirk my duties and/or responsibilities by giving myself new, regular distractions.

D.) I enjoy finding new things to do and then not do (MySpace, Facebook and in the future, Twitter)

E.) Someone told me that I should expose myself as much as I can... NOT LIKE THAT!!!

F.) All of the Above...

I know "F" is a cop-out. But I guess as far as I'm concerned, it can be either, any and all of the above choices. Tonight, I want it for the art part... BEHOLD ---

Enjoy...

lator gators!
